MAFUBA is a 6 piece jazz fusion band that draws sound and message from far east influences. We make music with the intention of directly translating our life experiences into its sonic form. From Pharoah Sanders, Nusrat Fateh Ali, to Dragon Ball; MAFUBA has been inspired by many cultural icons. We hope that you join us on a fine evening of bombastic sounds and meet us halfway on our journey of love.

Heavily influenced by the ethos of be-bop, trip-hop, Frank Zappa, John Zorn and hardcore punk as well as quoting from fusion, jazz standards, country twang & breakbeat urgency the band tosses a colourful salad unlike anything on the current aural menu.

Soulful, stirring vocals and dynamic, math-pop melodies are what you can expect to hear when listening to our tracks. Weatherboy’s sound is a blend of our respective musical influences, ranging from jazz to blues, folk to emo, and punk rock.
