In 1998, Susie opened for Ray Charles at the Montreal Jazz Festival. Since then, her records have garnered numerous Juno and Felix nominations, winning a Felix for the album, All The Way, 2012, and Susie, as Jazz vocalist, on her album, Spring, 2015. Her band's live DVD/CD, from 2007, went gold, as did their Christmas album, Christmas Dreaming, 2011. Susie also won the Oscar Peterson prize in 2009.

Susie is known for her silky tone and her interpretive skill, as well as her sense of humour at her live shows.
